About FabricCalc
FabricCalc is a free resource for sewists and quilters who want to find their correct pattern size and calculate fabric requirements quickly and accurately.
Our Mission
Pattern sizing is notoriously inconsistent across brands. A size 14 in Simplicity is not the same as a size 14 in Vogue or Burda. This causes endless confusion — and wasted fabric — for sewists at every skill level.
Our goal is simple: give every sewist the information they need to choose the right size before they cut a single piece of fabric. We cover all 7 major pattern brands and provide tools that work directly from your body measurements.
Where Our Data Comes From
All size chart data is sourced directly from official brand size charts published by each pattern company. We cover the following 7 brands:
Charts are reviewed and updated whenever brands publish new sizing information. Last reviewed: June 2026.
Important Disclaimer
Size charts represent body measurements, not finished garment measurements. Actual fit varies by garment style, ease, and individual pattern version. Sizes can differ between pattern lines even within the same brand. Always compare your measurements to the size chart printed inside your specific pattern envelope before cutting.
Editorial Team
FabricCalc content is created and maintained by the FabricCalc Editorial Team — sewists and quilters who use these tools in their own projects. We verify all data against primary sources and update charts when official sizing changes.
